By More Leads we mean new contacts, people that haven’t had any previous connection (association) with you or your business.
Lead generation is where the journey begins, it’s the seed from which future business blooms. And just like a seed, the better you tend and nurture your lead, the better your return on investment will be.
The Right Leads
Generating the right leads is paramount to your business growth. You want to be building a list of people that are likely to do business with you.
To do this effectively you need to know:
- Who your ideal client is;
- What problem you are solving or result you are offering them; and
- Where they hang out online (or what they do and read offline).
When you know this, you can put the right message in front of the right person on the right platform at the right time. This is how you generate more of the right leads.

Imagine never having to worry over where you next lead, client or customer is coming from. This can be achieved by having a continuous traffic source you control. If you need more leads you turn the flow up, if you need less you turn it down.
2 Types of Lists
There are two types of lists you can build.
The first is your database, which is normally maintained using 3rd party software (eg Ontraport, Mail Chimp etc) You own this list, and can use it where and when you choose.
The second are your invisible lists. These are created on 3rd party platforms - the most common are Facebook and Google Adwords - and are called custom audiences. These lists are created using pixels on your website and custom audiences on the platform. These lists have limitations. They can only be used on the platform they were created on and significantly you do not own these lists and cannot see who is on them. The primary purpose of these lists is to improve your advertising targeting based on an individuals behaviour.
Traffic = Leads
Generating traffic is much easier than you think and is definitely not as hard as many would have you believe.
Google, Facebook, LinkedIn or YouTube (just to name the obvious) are all traffic stores and would love nothing more than to send you traffic. All you need to do is go to the traffic store of your choice and buy it.
How Do You Get More Leads
There are 3 core elements required to get more leads:
Traffic - You need to drive traffic to your content. This traffic can be organic or paid.
Content - You need to offer a piece of valuable content the can be consumed quickly and provides either a small win or the belief they can achieve a result. Examples of Lead Magnets include a checklist, a how to video, a step by step tutorial…
Conversion - You need a way to offer your lead magnet in exchange for a name and email. This is what your website (or Social Media Platform) and Email Service Provider are for.
